Mock Draft Junkies Read Here

This time of year, Fantasy Football junkies like myself are craving some action. We’re licking our wounds as most of us didn’t win it all in our Fantasy leagues. So where is the action for all of us NFL-GM-Wannabees? NFL Mock Drafts and Rumors …
I read a rumor, can’t remember where … about a potential trade of J.P. Losman from the Bills to the Falcons. As a Bills fan this perked my interest and my wheels have been turning … There are also a ton of rumors that Dallas wants to trade up into the top of the draft to get Darren McFadden …
I personally see a “Snug-Fit” for a 3 way deal here …
Deals are hard enough with-out making them a 3-way, but here me out …
Atlanta…
- Who is the Atlanta QB next year? No clue is the likely response.
- Who is the current Atlanta OC? Answer … Mike Mullarkey
- What does Atlanta need most? Answer … an experienced QB to run Mullarkey’s system …
Dallas
- #1 Goal: Darren McFadden …
- Have 2 picks in the first round … & that’s still not enough for McFadden
- Have holes that require youth infusion … so can’t surrender the Ricky Williams package (aka the rest of their picks)
- 3rd party needed for help
Buffalo
- JP Unhappy and has asked for a trade
- have holes that one player in the top 5 won’t complete
- positions of need can be had at the end of round 1
- Alge Crumpler … fills a heavy void at TE (but he’s 30)
Things that don’t fit …
- Bills have extra picks in the 3, 5 & 7 rounds that they may be able to package to move up from the 2nd round into bottom of the first or very early 2nd to get a LB / WR / TE (ala the Poz move last year)
- JP Losman may also net them enough to fill a hole in a separate deal
- Atlanta may be in love with the idea of Matt Ryan … if he’s there when they draft, then all the dominoes for the 3-way will never fall into place
- Dallas may get smart and realize that their lack of CB and age at WR may be reason enough to maintain multiple picks at the end of round 1 where there should be good value at those positions (same reason Buffalo should be looking to trade down)
Wilfork Needs to be Fined & Suspended

This is horrible to watch, but do it anyway … this was deliberate and it shows!
Update: Wilfork was fined $12,500 by the league for this hit …
Hardly seems like enough when a player gets fined $5K for not strapping his chin-strap. The chin-strap fine seems excessive until you remember how much these guys make. Put that into perspective and think how much a $12,500 fine really hurts compared to a knee injury costing someone (actually not just someone, a starting QB) 3 weeks of playing time or potentially more.
I like Roger Goodell, he’s doing great things in cleaning up the game. However, this one I disagree with. The guy threw an elbow at JP’s knee! A slap on the wrist is not appropriate here!

Ricky Rules (smoke em if you got em)

-You can keep a maximum of 2 players from different positions, unless one is a rookie in which you can keep three and two may be from the same position as long as one is a rookie
-The Rookie eligible list is being provided by ESPN. This is a list of all rookie position players that are elibile for the Rook Rule
-A player may not be selected as a keeper in consecutive years
-If you keep someone drafted in the first two rounds you can only select one keeper (this includes rookies too, if you select a keeper from the first two rounds you can not keep a rookie too)
-Where you draft the person is where he counts as your keeper for next year should you keep him, mimimum loss is 6th round. (Example: You select Clinton Portis in 4th round, you keep him, you lose a 4th round next year. You pick up a Free Agent and keep him, you would lose a 6th round pick) { This Rule Is Currently Being Voted On}
-You can trade a draft pick for another draft pick for the following season, not to go beyond one season. You can only trade 1 for 1. If you’ve traded away a round and you have a keeper from the same round you will have a 1 round penalty. (Example: You selected Clinton Portin in the 4th round of the 2007 draft. During the season you trade away your 4th round pick for the 2008 draft. If you decide to keep Clinton Portis in 2008 you would lose your 4th round. You no longer have your 4th round because you traded it away, so you are assessed a 1 round penalty and Portis would now count for your 3rd round selection in 2008)
-This year we will start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 RB/WR, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF
-You must start a rookie a total of 8 games or you’ll forefit those 8 games
-The draft will be heald on Friday August 17th at 7:00 PM. Chat room will be announced prior to then
-We have a total of 4 new teams in the league this year, please make them feel welcome

Resigning of A-Train the Right Move!!!

Yahoo! Well, let’s not get too carried away … but in my humble opinion the Bills made the absolute right move in resigning Anthony Thomas. I can say the reverse for Anthony Thomas as well, as he has little opportunity to shine elsewhere. No one should expect huge numbers from the former Rookie of the Year RB, but all in all he posted stats very similar to that of Willis. Two areas where he did better than Willis … pass protection and pass receptions! Those are two areas that the Bills management has made a point of stating need to be better addressed from the backfield. NOTE: Willis missed a key block, that cost us a game early in the year.
This should also quell the rumors that the Bills will be trading up to take a stab at Adrian Peterson or absolutely *need to* take Marshawn Lynch with the 12th pick of the draft. Flexibility is crucial at this time of year … Levy now has it. Although I must say … I do see us drafting a few speedy LB’s this year.
